Welcome to my blog! My name is Alyssa Dunehew, and I'm currently a college student at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. I've lived here in Fairbanks my whole life, and although we have some of the most extreme weather ranges in the world, I believe we are also one of the most beautiful places in the world. Alaska is interesting because of the land and the people. If you've never had the pleasure of looking at Denali with your own two eyes, traveled from Fairbanks to Seward aboard the Alaska Railroad, or caught a halibut on the Homer spit, you MUST put Alaska on your bucket list.
Now, let's get down to blogging. Yes, I tend to make Alaska a topic of discussion, but it's not what I'm concerned about the most.
I LOVE MUSIC! Honestly, those three words will never be enough to describe it. Music is my breakfast, lunch, and dinner. When I hear music, it fills my soul, and paints pictures in my mind. With every byte of sound that enters my ears, I want to hear more, see more, and feel more. I hunger for it. Most of all, I want to learn more. I want to learn about what I'm hearing, and why music makes me feel so much. I want to reach to every corner of music and grasp every aspect of it.
I feel that because I love music so much, it needs to be shared. I want to help others be inspired to love music as much as I do, which is why I write this blog. I also have an interests in journalism and photography, which I often pair with my love of music. I create playlists of what I listen to every month, and it's kind of cool, being able to listen to the soundtrack of my life month by month. I also review albums and artists that I particularly enjoy, and some that I feel need more recognition and more publicity because they're just that awesome.
Some of the best posts on my blog are:
- Good night. (Playlist)
- Sounds of Summer
- Mike Posner's "Takeoff"
- April Fools...?
- Time Has Healed, Music Has Saved
- Hinder Gives Fairbanks "Nightmares"
- Miles States: Alaska's freshest in Hip-Hop
I feel that these posts best represent my blog, and what I'm all about.
Another huge dream of mine is to become a producer. There's a possibility that I could be moving to Phoenix, AZ to work with a producer in the area, and if I play my cards right over the next few months, I could really make things happen, but I know I can't do it by myself. Everyone needs love and support, and by writing this blog, posting my thoughts and favorite songs, I hope to gain the support I need to pursue music in the ways I dream of. I also hope to give my readers ways to discover new music to love and share, and a blog to visit that is fun and provides an outlet to relaxation and enjoyment.
