Josh & Gary

I think this is the part where everything just falls apart. I don't know what to say, or do, how to feel, how not to feel. What I do feel is numb. Which I'm not sure actually counts as a feeling. My energy and self-esteem are at a complete standstill right now. I feel like I'm emotionally slipping into a coma. I need something to make me feel alive again. Something that will awaken my motivation and my confidence so I'm not just sitting here, wasting my own time.

Bringin' it back...

Hello all...
I haven't logged into this since my last post at the end of August, 2012. I still have readers! I can't believe it! Over 36,000 page views is pretty impressive for a blog that is really rather mediocre. Thank you to anyone that has stopped in over the past few months to listen to my old playlists.

I don't want to make a huge post out of this, and I don't want to say that I'm "back"... But, I'd like to be. My absence involves moving from one extreme area of the continent to the other, as I stated in my post last August. I got here to Arizona on September 14th last year, and it's been quite the struggle getting settled and into my groove, but I feel at home now. I haven't been as involved in music lately as I always have been in the past, which makes me sad, but the break has been to gather my life together around me and start my own path. I plan to start going to school again this winter, and will hopefully complete an 11 month program that will open up a massive horizon of music careers to choose from.

I wish I had the time and capability to make on long-ass playlist of everything I've been listening to for the past few months. I'm assigning myself a homework project- to compile a list of my top favorites from the past 8 months and post them here to start sharing with everyone. From there, I'd like to jump back into monthly or even weekly playlists if I'm able to... We'll see!

So, be on the lookout for a pretty cool playlist in the next week or two. Hope everyone is enjoying the start to their summer... let's make it a good one!

Hennessy at Cookouts

Never heard of The King's Dead? Yes you have. The Dean's List has magically morphed into this new project, and I'm diggin' it so far. Be on the lookout for their free debut album titled "Jerusalem", dropping September 17th. In the mean time, enjoy "Hennessy at Cookouts".

May Be Keepin' it Together

Happy summer, everyone! Man, doesn't it feel good to be DONE?? Now we're free to run and play, drive our fast, sexy, sporty cars, kiss in the rain, and lay out all day in the sun to achieve that perfect bronze glow.... Oh, and don't forget the whole Full Time Job aspect! We need that cash, too. For those of you still in school, take the word "done" and think of it as "done with the first five months of this year/done with winter and spring". :)
If you're reading this, that means you kept it together long enough to get thru the cold, the snow (depending on where you live), the homework, the tests, the essays, and for some, the graduation ceremonies. Congrats! It also means you got past those rough spots, those low grades, those cloudy, dark days, those fights with the boyfriend/girlfriend, anything that tested your patience and strength. Again, congrats. I've been through my share of rough spots for sure, but I've passed the tests of patience and strength, and I've come out on top. It feels good, right? Right!
There were definitely some rough spots in music this month, for sure. There've been days where I was so unimpressed with what I'd been finding lately that I just drove in silence. YES, it killed me. But I've done my last bit of homework for the month, and gathered up what I think is a fantastic playlist to celebrate our accomplishments and kick off Summer 2K12! Below is my 8tracks Mix for the month, 24 songs that I've come to love, that I think you'll love too.

MIRACLE
(the way this song sounds just makes me feel like summer in general… I think it’s the guitar riff. Check out Ghost Beach and get their free downloads!)
Ghost Beach
Run ft. Team Robot
(G-Eazy is becoming quite popular now, I really like his chill, slightly old school hip hop sounds. Sorry for the racial slurs... Also: BIG BOOTY BITCHES. That is all.)
G-Eazy
I Love It
(Hey boys! This is sung by Swedish girls! YES, SWEDISH GIRLS! Feisty, tall, skinny, blonde Swedish girls... Find this track on soundcloud. )
Icona Pop
Amazing (Ft. Chris Brown)
(“I be goin' hard, Hard enough to have a baby”… huh. Okay.)
David Banner
Tapada World
(Everyone knows I have a thing for this white boy. Not the best I’ve ever heard from him, but it’s new and it’s not completely terrible.)
Mike Posner
Evolved
(From their new album “Relax”. I liked most of these, actually.)
Sex Ray Vision
Sending My Heartbeat [Childish Gambino, R3hab, Hardwell, Swanky Tunes, Hard Rock Sofa, Dirty South] (Idk, I just like this one. Yep.)
Sex Ray Vision
The Veldt (Original Mix)
(I’m sorry this is so long… If you don’t wanna skip it, just go do something for 8 minutes. I promise the rest of the list is worth it! If you do like this… Good for you.)
Deadmau5
Limitless
(Also from “Relax”.)
Sex Ray Vision
Lost In Translation
(This one’s pretty abstract…. just wait and get into the beat a little. I think it’s groovy. Sexytime…)
Sexytime
This Is So Sweet [Ehrencrona, Temper Trap]
(Who doesn’t love a good remix of Sweet Disposition? Ultimate summertime anthem.)
Sex Ray Vision
Pumped Up Kicks (Foster The People Cover)
(Did you eargasm? Yes? I knew it… Isn’t Cris’ voice just amazing?)
Cris Cab
You're A Fool feat. G. Love
(Oh, Cisco… you’re so smooooth.)
Cisco Adler
Runaround Sue ft. Greg Banks
(This is one I’ve put on repeat on and off throughout the month.)
G-Eazy
Boyfriend (Remix) (feat. 2 Chainz, Mac Miller & Asher Roth)
(These three give Justin Bieber the sex appeal he thinks he always has. Asher’s part is just… UGH. Yes.)
Justin Bieber
Let's Go Home
(Carousel always sounds like summer to me, chill with a good beat. I’ve posted a few other songs of theirs before, as well.)
Carousel
Hollywood (featuring Penguin Prison)
(If you don’t know RAC, get to know them. There’s another mix by them two tracks from this.)
RAC
Empty Streets
(I’m not sure if this is a favorite of mine or not. I like the fact that it’s fresh, though, not like everything else that’s popular right now.)
Ghost Beach
Everybody Knows (RAC Mix)
(Mm, mm. Some good Legend to groove to.)
John Legend
Big Easy ft. G-Eazy
(Love the horns in this. Great ensemble.)
Brando
The Knowing
(This song makes me want to direct the most epic short film EVER… It just sounds “epic” to me.)
Sahab.
The Funeral (Sound Remedy Remix)
(I just found this earlier today, and wow! I like it a lot. Some really cool dubstep in the middle of a great song.)
Band Of Horses
New Theory (RAC Mix)
(You catching my drift yet? RAC is pretty dang cool. I like what they’ve done with this one.)
Washed Out
Last Time Ft. Matthew Gage
(I hope you’re still with me, I know this has definitely been a long list. You probably haven’t heard of G-Scott. But this song is incredible. Put it in some headphones and just breathe with it.)

Imma let you finish in a minute, but...

Dear Kim Kardashian, Amber Rose, and PETA,

Suck it.

Sincerely,
Yeezy

I guess it's true, the only person that'll ever outdo Mr. West is... Mr. West himself. This ones juicier than an issue of US Weekly, so grab it while it's hot. Kanye lashes out to musically uppercut a few people he's got beef with, including his ex girlfriend, Amber Rose, who's currently engaged to fellow rapper Wiz Khalifa. Next is his ex crush, little miss Kim Kardashian (anybody catch that threat to New Jersey Nets star Kris Humphries, her ex husband?). “Lucky I ain’t have Jay drop him from the team"... Well played, Mr. West. And as for PETA... well, what more do I have to say. This has gotta be the best Battle Of The Ex's song I've heard in a long time. Thumbs up, for sure.

I saw this on Facebook, as posted by GMAD , and for lyrics, here they are from KillerHipHop.com. Yes this video is UNOFFICIAL.

Stats and 8tracks Mix

Thank you!

I've officially reached over 18,000 views on my blog! THANK YOU to everyone who visits my site, you guys rock. Even though blogging isn't a dream of mine, it is a way to help me achieve another dream of mine, which is making people happy through music, and by sharing the music I find and enjoy, I hope that in turn you all enjoy it and will pass it on. :) This month so far, I'm averaging about 60 views a day, which is fantastic, because it's only the 7th! Again, thank you all so much.

I recently created a mix on 8tracks, and if you haven't heard of the website, or don't use it, you totally should! It's a great way to create and share mixes for every occasion, and they're making upgrades and adding new features to their site quite often, so check it out!
