tomorrow morning when i wake up, i will experience that temporary moment of innocence and bliss... you know what i mean, right? that small, brief moment when your mind is bright and blank, just waking up from the night before. decisions, mistakes, choices, new directions, they will all come rushing back to me after that moment is up. my emotions will start to dance in the front of my mind, and i will already be in the process of facing the day, without even being ready, or wanting to. but in that moment, everything will be perfectly right in the world. and if i can see it and feel it in that one short moment, i know for sure that it does exist, i know that somehow, some way, i can achieve that feeling whenever i want. maybe even permanently. if i try hard enough.
do you ever find yourself caught in a moment that feels almost like you're in a movie? like you're watching yourself and your situation from someone else's eyes, or through a camera lens. and a song comes on, somewhere far off in the distance, or even in your mind... and it absolutely breaks your heart, because there could be no better melody, no more ironic words and movements to complete the moment you're caught up in. does this happen by accident? or are we all so connected in this world that the reason why that artist created that song was to be the soundtrack for your moment, everyone's moment? i'd like to believe so.

Sarah "Hangs" With Robyn
I don't know much about Robyn (it looks like I need to, though), but I do know Sarah Jaffe. She's one of my favorite folk artists. I saw this on the home page of Billboard for Mashup Monday and had to watch it. Sarah talks about the way she perceived the dance/electronica song when she heard it, and I thought it was really cool. I love to discover what artists my favorite artists listen to.
Sarah's voice is just gorgeous- soft, and a little raspy. Robyn is obviously complete opposite. I believe it takes true talent to be able to remake a song into something completely your own, and that's what she does here. Love is universal, no matter how different two people may be.

It's definitely a Monday.
It's 1:15 am and I don't feel like doing anything productive. I don't even know why I'm up. But it's officially Monday... crap.
I teach a dance camp this week for an hour and a half every day, oh, joy. I'm actually kind of excited about it, because I love to teach dance and I can usually stand to work with children. Wish me luck.
I'm teaching a routine to the song Follow The Leader by Soca Boys, it'll be great for the little devils to waste some energy to. Haha...
I'm sitting in a friends room listening to Dane Cook while one friend is playing a video game and the other is passed out on the floor. I ate WAY too much food this evening... Typical night.
I've begun working on a Pandora radio station to represent my blog, it's coming along pretty well. It'll only get better in time, though.
It's now 2 am, and I've realized I've been locked out of my room, until my roommate, who doesn't even sleep in our room, comes back to the room at about 4:30 am. It's definitely a Monday. *sigh*.
