Today is a Monday kind of day.

I feel like writing a new post, but honestly I don't have much to write about. I feel really BLAH today... There are so many thoughts buzzing around in my head. I think I need to get a few poems out. Maybe a song, I don't know. But my brain feels cluttered. It's strange, I feel lonely. I don't know how it's possible. I'm so busy, surrounded by people and lots to do. But I feel like I'm missing something. Maybe I just need a job and more work to do. Or it could be that I'm missing my brain. That's kinda how I feel.

I listened to Edge of Desire by John Mayer about six times today. The overall sound is kind of mirroring my mood lately. I also listened to Scar Tissue by RHCP, it's my favorite by them.
I'm also in the middle of compiling a Valentine's Day Playlist, stuff that's very easy to dance to.

Here's what I've downloaded so far today:

Amazed by Lonestar
I Need a Doctor by Dr. Dre ft. Eminem and Skylar Grey
Princess Ke$ha by Ke$ha (don't even bother, it's a stupid song.)
We In the Buildin' by Moufy
Party Til We Pass Out by Moufy
Lights (WIRED Dubstep Remix) by Ellie Goulding
Roll Up by Wiz Khalifa
Iris by Goo Goo Dolls
Kiss From A Rose by Seal (idk why this wasn't in my library already)

I also just realized it's the last day of January... It's already been a month of 2011? WTF, already? This is creepy.

FILTHY DUBSTEP

I can't stop listening to this stuff. I've been playing on soundcloud, looking up remixes to some of the hottest dubstep right now, and this is probably one of the SICKEST songs I've found so far.
This is Trykk's mashup to Liquid Stranger's "Pressurize", available for free download. Hardest drop hits at :27. Prepare to lose your mind.

Liquid Stranger - Pressurize the Vault (TrykK Mashup) by Trykk

Final January Playlist

I AM SO BEHIND.

I’m sorry. My new year so far has been BUSY. Which is a good thing, I suppose. I practically gave up on Project 356 for about 2 weeks… Haven’t posted any new music on here since, what, January 7th? What the hell. I almost feel like I’m already failing myself and it’s only 23 days into the year.

TIME TO PICK UP THE SLACK!!!

I have some crazy awesome new music for you all, as a continuation of my last post, I’ll give you the rest of what I’ve been listening to this month. It’s a pretty even mix of Indie, hip-hop, and pop, with a little house/techno thrown in. I love it so far. Doin' It Right, January (Playlist)

WOW. Only seven days into the new year? It seems like it's been weeks already! That could be a good thing I suppose.
Well, as of now, I have a small playlist going. Looking back at my last post, I feel really lame. Because I have a secret. For the past 7 days, I haven't really been looking for music. ...I've been taking photos. Yes, I know. It's terrible. BUT NOT REALLY.
I started this thing. It's called Project 365. You take a photo every day for a year and document every single day, so you can say, "Wow, look how amazing my year was!" or, "Wow, look how shitty my year was!" or even, "Wow, look how much taller I didn't get!". Yeah. Something along those lines.
I'm actually really excited about this. I've totally left photography in the dust, and I feel like it's something I should pick back up again, because I love it.
Now for this project, you can take a picture of anything and everything. Just as long as you do one a day. I've really been doing some self reflection lately, and I've been working hard on those New Year's resolutions. So far, things have been pretty rewarding.
If you'd like to check out my project, you can visit my flickr page at http://www.flickr.com/photos/islandeyesphoto/. Don't feel obligated, I don't care if you look at my pictures or not. haha
Okay. Back to the music, yeah?
So in my last post, I asked for help with finding music. I got some really great suggestions, among some other suggestions that I really couldn't take to seriously. Sorry Zach.
Anyways. Here's a little of what was suggested to me. Check 'em out, maybe you can add this to your playlist too.
Hell Yeah by Rev Theory (not new, but good)
Electric Worry by Clutch
Ehu Girl by Kolohe Kai (reminds me of my Island friends (: )
So Big by Iyaz (love it!)
Fallin' by Asher Roth (can't stop listening to it)
Lake Michigan by Rouge Wake
music from Coconut Records
I'm Not Going To Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You by Black Kids
Inside This World Of Mine by Static Cycle
So, thanks to Zach, Austyn, and Ryan for help :)
This is the beginning of my official January Playlist.
Doin' It Right, January
Magic Carpet Ride by Steppenwolf
Feel Good by Modestep
YES by Bassnectar & Datsik
Raise Your Weapon by Deadmau5 (Switch Fusion Remix)
Long Time by Cake
Got To Move by Cake
We Used To Wait by Arcade Fire
Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains) by Arcade Fire
Beautiful by Borne
Feel It All Around by Washed Out
Fallin' by Asher Roth
Gotta Get Up by Asher Roth & Nottz
Hot N' Fun (Remix) by Asher Roth
So basically, this playlist is SUPER alternative/indie. But, that's just what I've been feeling lately. I'll be posting the complete list closer to the end of the month.

Holy Crappy Music, Batman!

Well, I was hoping to be able to post some great new songs for ringing in the New Year, but dear God. I can't find anything GOOD and worth listening to, other than what everyone is already listening to, and you know that's not my style. Even the top songs on iTunes are old. Ugh.
I could be crazy, though. Maybe you all like the stuff on iTunes and the stuff I've downloaded lately, and I just don't like it. Well, whatever. Nothing I've heard lately is FANTASTICALLY AWESOME. It's all just been... blah.

Here's what I suggest. Go to iTunes and look at their Free On iTunes section. I haven't paid attention to it lately, which is sad because a lot of the time the stuff they offer is great. Last summer I downloaded Fireflies by Owl City for free before anyone knew they were good, and I got to enjoy it for a few months before it became disgustingly overplayed.

This week they feature a newer song by Cage the Elephant that's pretty good, if you like them, called Around My Head. The free video this week is actually really great, 10 Seconds by Jazmine Sullivan. Her voice is quite lovely. The video is.... okay, I liked the concept, but it could've been done differently. I don't think she was angry enough in the video, she needed more emotion. But. I can't judge to harshly, here I am blogging about her because I can't find anything better.

As my last resort, I'll open up my Shazam app and see what I've tagged recently. Let's see here. In the past month, I've tagged songs such as:

Drowning by Saving Abel
Start A Fire by Ryan Starr
Stereo Love by Edward Maya ft. Vika Jigulina
Heavy by Collective Soul
Firework by Katy Perry
Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri
Yeah 3X by Chris Brown
Steal My Sunshine by Len (good oldie)
For the First Time by The Script
Impossible by Anberlin
and
Higher by Taio Cruz ft. Travie McCoy

Okay, this list... kinda sucks, with the exception of like, 4 songs.
So, for all of you reading this, be brave and leave me a comment. Tell me what you're listening to so far this year. Maybe I'll make cookies for the person with the best songs.
(and actually you probably don't want me to make you cookies, I'm a terrible cook.)
K bye.
